Where Do You Get Your News?

Signal Drift # 1

A signal drift is exactly what it means. It's a message that drifts from my usual product announcements containing tips, asks, thoughts, and queries.

Where do you get your news from?

Just woke up on the recent news happening in Venezuela and I wondered, do we hear the same things when we read the news? So, to start us off, here's a list of outlets, where I get most of my information from:

  • Mother Jones - Progressive, left-leaning magazine that focuses on news commentary on topics such as politics, environment, human rights, etc.
  • Democracy Now - Similar to Mother Jones, a progressive news outlet that reports on topics including but not limited to world news, human rights, politics, etc.
  • The Guardian - for a non-US perspective on US politics, world affairs, environment etc. The opinion articles tend to be thoughtfully crafted and well-written.
  • Tech Policy Press - A platform dedicated in discussing the intersection of technology and democracy. A great resource in understanding how our advancements impact our democratic institutions

At this point, you probably guess, these are all progressive outlets. Here are a few more that I follow:

  • ProPublica - Although it has been accused of being left-leaning. From my perspective, it has delivered a fairly balanced reporting.
  • Wired - Not much to say but it delivers the usual staples of how emerging tech impacts the world around us.
  • Scientific American - Just give me only the science please. Fascinating read 🥸

What's your news outlet? If you find the information here helpful or informative, go ahead and subscribe.

If not, feel free to drop me a note at hello@kubostack.co. Don't forget to add in the subject line: RE: SD 1, so I know what the email is for.

Thanks for taking the time to read this post.

Hey friends — quick little update from me. I’m temporarily taking Refrm off my storefront while I polish a few things behind the scenes. a recent review from Framer surfaced some areas I want to refine, and honestly, I’m excited about it. It gives me the chance to dig deeper into the tool and make Refrm even smoother, cleaner, and easier for you to use. This isn’t a setback — it’s a glow‑up in progress. Refrm will be back soon with a stronger structure, better responsiveness, and a more...
